Bloom Women's Health — Integrated Women's Health & Wellbeing Clinic, Nelson

I finally found a clinic where I did not have to explain my whole history to five different people. Everyone I needed was under one roof.

02 · How a visit works

From booking to follow-up, step by step.

  1. Book online or call

Takes about 5 minutes. Choose your clinician and appointment type. Same-day slots are released at 8am.

  2. New patient form

Emailed to you after booking. Fill it in at home — about 10 minutes. Covers medical history, medications and what you would like to focus on.

  3. Initial consultation

30 minutes with your GP · $65 with CSC / $95 without. We listen first, examine only with consent, and explain every option before recommending anything.

  4. Internal referral if needed

If pelvic floor physio, psychology or a procedure like IUD insertion would help, we book it within the clinic. No external waitlist.

  5. Follow-up

15 minutes · $45 CSC / $65 without. Review results, adjust medication, check progress. Phone or video follow-ups available.

03 · Frequently asked questions

Answers before you need to ask.

Do I need a referral?

No. You can book directly with any of our clinicians. If you are enrolling as a new patient with Dr Rawiri, we just need your NHI number or previous GP details so we can request your records.

Is the pill consultation included in the GP fee?

Yes. Contraception prescriptions, including the combined pill, mini-pill, patch and ring, are covered within a standard GP consultation. If you need an IUD or Jadelle, that is a separate procedure appointment with Sophie.

What does pelvic floor physio involve?

Emma starts with a thorough history and external assessment. Internal examination is offered but never required for the first visit. Treatment includes exercise programmes, biofeedback and manual therapy. Most patients see improvement within six sessions.

Can I bring my baby?

Absolutely. We have a changing table, a feeding chair and a small play area in the waiting room. If your baby is unsettled during your appointment, we will pause — your consultation time still counts in full.

Do you offer IUD insertion?

Yes. Sophie inserts Mirena and copper IUDs. The appointment is 30 minutes and costs $280 including the device. We recommend taking ibuprofen beforehand and having someone available to drive you home.

Where do I park?

Buxton Square car park is a two-minute walk. There is also metered parking on Trafalgar Street. The clinic is on the ground floor with step-free access from the street.

Is the clinic accessible?

The entire clinic is on the ground floor with a wide entrance, an accessible bathroom and a lowered reception counter. The examination room has a height-adjustable table. Guide and assistance dogs are welcome.

04 · Patient feedback

From women at every stage.

Sophie explained every contraception option without rushing me. I ended up with the Mirena and it has been life-changing — lighter periods, no daily pill to remember. The insertion was uncomfortable but she talked me through every second.
— A.L., Richmond · Contraception consult, 2025
After my second baby I could not run without leaking. Emma gave me a programme that actually worked. Six weeks of exercises and I ran the Nelson Half in April. I cried at the finish line and it was not from the running.
— M.R., Stoke · Postnatal pelvic floor, 2026
Dr Rawiri took my menopause symptoms seriously the first time I described them. No dismissing, no "let's wait and see". She prescribed HRT that week and the brain fog lifted within a month.
— T.K., Nelson · Menopause management, 2025
I lost a pregnancy at eleven weeks and did not know where to turn. Dr Ngata was gentle and direct at the same time. She helped me process something I had no language for. I still see her monthly.
— S.B., Māpua · Pregnancy loss support, 2026
