Meridian Timepieces is a specialist boutique on Hurstmere Road, Takapuna. We stock Swiss mechanical watches, curate pre-owned collectibles, and champion independent microbrands you will not find in department stores. Our certified horologist, Marcus, services and restores every movement on site.

Our floor stock rotates seasonally. Every pre-owned piece is authenticated, pressure-tested and carries a 12-month Meridian service warranty. Prices include GST.

From a market stall to Hurstmere Road

Marcus Hale begins selling restored vintage Seikos at the Takapuna Sunday Market.

Completes WOSTEP certification in Neuchâtel and opens a one-room workshop on Lake Road.

Becomes Auckland's first authorised Nomos Glashütte stockist; moves to Hurstmere Road.

Launches the Meridian Pre-Owned programme with 12-month movement warranty and pressure testing.

Partners with Borealis, Zelos and Maen — three independent microbrands brought to a physical showroom.

Private viewing room opens upstairs. Ruby Chen joins as second certified horologist.

Wind weekly

Even with an automatic, give the crown 20–30 turns once a week if you rotate between watches. Keeps the mainspring at optimal tension.

Avoid magnets

Phone speakers, tablet covers and handbag clasps can magnetise the hairspring. If your watch gains 30+ seconds a day, bring it in for a free magnetism check.

Service every 5 years

A full service at Meridian includes disassembly, ultrasonic cleaning, re-lubrication, regulation and a 50m pressure test. From $450 for a three-hand calibre.

Store on a cushion, not a winder

Winders keep the rotor spinning unnecessarily. A soft travel pouch or cushion is kinder to the movement between wears.
