Cooked over fire,
grown in season.
A modern New Zealand restaurant built around a wood-fired hearth, honest local produce and a wine list that never tries too hard.
Dinner, Wednesday–Sunday · 5pm till late
Fire first, fuss never.
"Good food is mostly about good ingredients and a little patience."
We cook over locally grown manuka and oak, letting smoke and heat do the work. The menu changes with the season and the market — if it isn't at its best, we don't serve it.
From our producers to our apprentices to your table, everything is treated with the same respect: simple, honest, and never overworked.
The Ember Tasting Menu
- Market crudo & sourdough
- Ember vegetables of the season
- Smoked fish over coals
- Grass-fed beef, bone marrow
- Sweets with local honey
