How often should I get my gutters cleaned?
Twice a year is the baseline — once in late autumn after the leaves have fallen and once in spring before summer storms. Properties under large trees (pōhutukawa, macrocarpa, pine) may need a third clean in winter. Our maintenance plan covers two cleans a year.
Do you clean two-storey gutters?
Yes. We use a combination of extending ladders, roof anchors and a vacuum system for safe access. The $40 surcharge per extra storey covers the safety setup time. Three-storey work and commercial buildings are quoted separately.
Are leaf guards worth it?
For most Kapiti properties they pay for themselves within two to three years by halving the number of cleans needed. They are especially effective under pōhutukawa and pine. We recommend guards on any gutter that blocks more than once a year.
What happens to the debris?
Everything we remove goes into our van and is composted or green-waste binned. We never leave piles on your lawn, in your garden or on the driveway. The area around your downpipes is hosed clean before we leave.
Can you fix a leaking gutter joint?
Yes. We reseal joints with a commercial-grade gutter sealant and replace rivets or brackets if they have corroded. If a section is too damaged to repair we replace it with matching profile and colour. All repairs are quoted at the time of the clean.
