01 · Our coffees

Current single-origin roasts

Every bag is roasted to order within 48 hours of purchase. We rest whole beans for four days before dispatching so degassing is complete on arrival. Retail bags are 250 g unless noted.

02 · From farm to cup

How we source and roast

  1. Source green beans

    Aroha travels twice a year — February to East Africa, August to Central America — to cup samples at origin and negotiate direct-trade contracts with smallholder cooperatives. We pay at least 40 % above the C-market price.

  2. Import and store

    Green beans arrive in GrainPro bags and rest in our climate-controlled warehouse in Raglan. We buy enough for four months so every lot is fresh.

  3. Profile and roast

    Jake develops a roast profile for each lot on our 5 kg Giesen sample roaster. Once locked, every production roast follows the same curve on our 15 kg Giesen W15A. We roast Monday to Thursday.

  4. Rest and pack

    Whole beans rest four days in sealed bins, then are packed into compostable bags with a one-way valve. Every bag carries a roast date, lot number and the farmer's name.

  5. Deliver

    Retail orders ship nationwide within two business days. Wholesale accounts in the Waikato get next-morning delivery by our own van. Monthly cupping sessions happen at the roastery on the first Saturday.
